About
Katy Brown is the principal designer and owner at Kitty Brown Design.
After a career spanning 21 years in Buying & Product Development roles within the fashion, interiors and beauty industry, she decided to pursue her passion for gardens, plants and colour and retrain in garden design. Katy graduated from The Cotswold Gardening School in 2022 with a diploma in Professional Garden Design with distinction.
Her passion for plants has been supported by spending several years working in a highly regarded local plant nursery, and her love for gardening by volunteering as a gardener at The Yeo Valley Organic Garden.
Over the past few years she has been fortunate to volunteer on the planting teams at several RHS flower shows at Chelsea and Malvern to plant up gardens for gold medal award-winning garden designers. These fantastic opportunities have contributed to and expanded her extensive plant knowledge, leading her to specialise in planting design. Katy also loves to get involved in community planting projects to put her gardening skills to the test, to help transform local green spaces to give something back to the area where she lives.
With experience in floral design, Katy has spent several years freelancing for a local florist obtaining valuable skills in floristry. This experience has developed her passion for working with dried flowers to create large-scale floral installations for private and public venues, which are both everlasting and sustainable.
Katy loves working with private clients, designing gardens and planting schemes to create beautiful outdoor spaces for years to come. She also enjoys working with the private sector, designing planting schemes for public realm projects, and creating floral design installations for businesses to enhance their existing spaces and turn them into inspirational and beautiful places for all to enjoy.
